Introductions
Players should greet each other respectfully. Respect is an important part of the game.
Turn Order
- The youngest player always goes first in the first round.
- In subsequent rounds, the starting player alternates between players (oldest first, then youngest, and so on).
Rounds & Risk Cards
- Decide how many rounds will be played before starting the game.
- Each round consists of 5 cards total being played.
- At the start of each round, one Risk Card is placed into the Risk Slot.
- The Risk Card is what players win or lose at the end of the round.
Setup
- Shuffle your deck thoroughly.
- Your opponent may cut your deck up to three times, if they wish.
- Draw the top card of your deck and place it face down in the Risk Slot on your right side.
Battle Phase
- There are four Battle Slots (1–4). These are the in-play card positions.
Player 1 (youngest player in round 1):
- Draws the top card from their deck.
- Places it into any open Battle Slot.
Player 2:
- Draws the top card from their deck.
- Places it into any open Battle Slot.
- Player 2 may:
- Defend by placing their card directly across from Player 1’s card, or
- Attack an undefended slot, which allows full damage to go through.
Combat & Damage
- If a card is undefended, its attack damage is applied directly.
- If a card is defended, the attack is compared against the opposing card’s defense.
Example:
- Player 1 card: 5 Defense
- Player 2 card: 7 Attack
- Result: Player 1 takes 2 damage
Winning the Round
- The player who causes the most total damage during the round wins the Risk Card.
- Battle Slots 1–4 are the active play area.
- The Risk Card is what either won or lost.
Elemental Powers
- Some elements cancel others only when defending.
Example:
- Fire vs Water
- If a Water card is placed across from a Fire card, the Fire card is completely canceled out.
- Water vs Earth
- If a Earth card is placed across from a Water card, the Water card is completely canceled out.
- Earth vs Wood
- If a Wood card is placed across from a Earth card, the Earth card is completely canceled out.
- Wood vs Metal
- If a Metal card is placed across from a Wood card, the Wood card is completely canceled out.
- Metal vs Fire
- If a Fire card is placed across from a Metal card, the Metal card is completely canceled out.
⚠️ Elemental effects do not apply if the slot was already undefended in a previous round — the attack has already been counted.

Quick Visual Reminder

- Bottom row = Battle Slots
- Directly across = Defense
- No defender = Full Damage
- Elements only matter when defending
- Most damage wins the Risk Card
